Title: Re: NeoGeo Stick Pinout
Post by: NFG on March 26, 2008, 12:02:20 PM
Note that this thread started in the middle of another thread.  ニユ-マン (nyu-man) mentioned there might be an error in the NeoGeo controller pinout (http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/neocont.htm) on GameSX.  My reply:

Actually both are D buttons, check any neo geo stick.  While the console may only listen to one, the stick shorts both pins when D is pressed.

I know, it's weird, but I've got proof.  =)

You are right :-X, I've checked a NEOCD pad and #4 and #9 are bridged on the PCB.
But I still think that the table is confusing, it should be pointed out that the 2 pins are connected inside the joystick but only #4 carries the "D button" signal. ???

Yeah, it's time to move that page to the wiki.  =)

Oh, it's already been done (http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=controls:neo_geo_controller).

I added a note about the D button.
