Title: Rewiring PAL scart to VGA connector? JAP 21-Pin RGB to VGA?
Post by: eastbayarb on January 30, 2008, 08:42:21 AM
I got a PAL SCART cable for sega genesis 2 but I wanna connect it to my Mitsubishi Megaview via VGA connector (female).

Anyone know how?

Also I wanna rewire my Sega Saturn JAP 21-PIN RGB cable to VGA connector.

Here is the pinout for SCART (http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:scart_connector). Take the connector off, get a roll of tape and a sharpie, and label the wires from each pin. Then attach those wires to a VGA terminator. Here is the pinout for VGA (http://www.gamesx.com/hwb/co_VGA15.html). Just follow that chart and you're done.

Saturn? Same deal. Here is the pinout for JAP RGB (http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:japanese_rgb-21). Label the wires and set them to VGA per the chart above.

Will this projector support 15KHz input?

All Mitsubishi Megaviews (CRTs, not projectors) do 15 and 31KHz over the VGA so it's good for this.
