Title: Neo Geo MVS board - how to get RGB out?
Post by: eastbayarb on January 07, 2008, 07:27:49 AM
I currently have a Neo Geo AES system and RGB is handled through the AV Out port to my Sony PVM-2530 (the same cable is also used with my sega master system, and sega genesis 1 consoles). I want to get a Neo Geo MVS consolized.

Is there any way to add RGB out to a Neo Geo MVS? Perhaps using the same connector as the AES AV out?

The NEO GEO MVS already has RGB output via the JAMMA connector.  It's the exact same RGB output as the home system.  You could add a DIN8 connector to your MVS chassis or you could add it after the JAMMA connector, as either a dangling dongle or part of your supergun setup.

Just tape the RGB from the JAMMA connector or, using your multimeter, trace the RGB back to another suitable location for the soldering.

EDIT: D'oh! Lawrence beat me to the link and the Jamma info. I leave this last paragraph in.

Note that the raw audio straight off of an arcade board is generally not suitable for use in most sound systems. You'll have to run it through a pre-amp circuit or some other processing so that it comes out clean. Good luck.
