Title: Dreamcast VGA
Post by: downsouth420 on September 28, 2007, 07:36:17 AM
I have a third party VGA adapter for my Dreamcast. I love it, but of course not every game supports VGA. While I do know I could just patch certain games to work, the games I want to play don't have patches available. Is there a way I could add some kind of switch to fool my DC into displaying regular video through the VGA adapter?

In most cases I've found that you can trick the game into displaying in VGA by leaving the VGA box in RGB mode, and switching to VGA a few seconds into the boot process.  Some games check the VGA status often and it's harder to trick those.

Bangagioh was a really hard game to fool, but when I finally got it going the game was 1/4 sized in a corner of the screen, with garbage tiles scattered around the rest of the screen.
