Title: Gamecube 50/60Hz
Post by: phreak97 on January 14, 2004, 09:43:10 PM
this isnt a mod but it does let you choose 50hz or 60hz, at least it does on pal consoles. this could be common knowledge, i dont know.

1. get a gamecube game which has an option for 50/60hz in its option menu. (i use star wars: rogue leader)
2. switch it to 60. (i dont know how this would work on an ntsc console if at all, try switching to 50 if there is even an option)
3. after you confirm, switch off your gamecube.
4. insert another game.
5. now when you switch your gamecube on, once past the gamecube logo, it will ask you whether you want 50Hz or 60Hz.. choose the desired rate, your done

On ntsc machines, doesn't that cause it to boot in hdtv mode?

On supported software only, holding B does the following:
PAL machines will give an option to boot in 50 or 60Hz mode
NTSC machines will give an option to boot in Interlaced (Normal TV) or Progressive Scan mode.
Holding A while booting will dump you into the GC's bios for memory card management etc.
Holding Z will give you a different boot sound.
Holding Z on all four pads together will give you another boot sound.
