Title: Genesis Model 1 RCA mod help
Post by: Yeti on August 20, 2007, 05:11:30 AM
Hey guys. I'm new to this board and I thought I would start off with asking for a helping hand. All I really need to know is where to solder video and audio L&R on the mobo of a model 1 Genesis to get RCA output. I'm not sure if it's soldered under the DIN connecter or elsewhere. A kick in the right direction would be much appreciated.

I assume you want composite video? In that case, you would probably be able to steal it from under the DIN connector, on this page you have the pinout from the DIN on the Genesis: http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm (http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm) Use that with a multimeter(get one if you haven't got one) to find the correct point to solder to.

To get stereo sound from a Genesis 1 the easiest way(but probably not the best) is to grab it from the headphone output in the front, either use a 3.5mm to 2 RCA cable or solder 2 wires from the output inside the Genesis to your RCA jacks on the back.
