Hi, I'm having trouble finding a pinout scheme that allow me to build a cable to connect my Playstation 2 to an old Commodore 1084s-D1 RGB Monitor (this monitor has a DB9 connector, not the round DIN like) that I actually use with a Commodore Amiga 500.

You'll need to use an LM1881 or similar IC to generate a composite sync signal from the Playstation's composite video. You can power the IC from the +5v line available. See http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:playstationav (http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:playstationav)

Yeah, I'll need one of those LM1881 but I'm affraid that they are a little bit difficult to get one in my contry (Argentina)

Depending on what model PS2 you have you may be able to just get it off the motherboard. But it also depends on your technical skill. The PS2 isn't an easy machine to work with.

I'm sure you'll be able to find an LM1881 localy if you look around. Try TV spare parts suppliers.

Hi there, I've finally finished the RGB cable build and I'm using the commodore 1084s D1 with a slim-line playstation 2.

The results are outstanding, the about 20 years old monitor shows an excellent image quality.
They didn't lie when they say that RGB is the real way to play console video games.

If only I was brave enough to crack my LCD TV open and add some direct lines to it's encoder......I don't have the room for another monitor here just to use for the purpose of having RGB ouput, but I'd sure like to see the difference in person.
