Hope this is the right spot to ask..

Can I use any old PS2 DVD Remote, with my slim PS2? I notice all remotes (different SCPH numbers), come with the receiver, which I obviously don't need..

But do they work with my model PS2?

I should have answered this sooner, but I forgot.
The SCPH-10174 is a package with the PS2 remote and IR receiver, for the original "Fat" PS2. From what I understand, the remote does work with the PSTwo's built-in IR receiver, but the receiver that comes with that remote won't work in the PSTwo.

Also, the PSTwo remote won't work with that receiver as well (Not an issue obviously here).

If you want the remote specific to the PSTwo, get the SCPH-10420 package.
