Is there a way to add a backlight to a Neo Geo Pocket Color? I am planning on buying one.

You can't backlight an NGPC only front light as the LCD is reflective.
I have modded about a good 30-40 NGPCs already with a front light from a gameboy SP which has more screen area than the afterburner kit. With the SP front light you lose about 1.5mm at the bottom of the screen where the afterburner you lose about 1.5mm from both the top and bottom of the screen.
