Title: Need to add R3 button to X-Arcade for PS2
Post by: TazBeBad on January 04, 2004, 04:31:16 PM
I need some advice/method to modifying X-Arcade for use with PS2 EA Sports games to activate the online voice chat. You depress the right analog stick, R3, to start the talk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The x-arcade stick uses it's own controller board, short of completely rewiring the entire thing to run on a gutted ps2 controller, I can't think of a way to do it.  If you did do the rewire method with a gutted ps2 controller, the x-arcade wouldn't work with the other game systems anymore either.  The x-arcade isn't analog in any way so I wouldn't think it would be ideal for anything except older games and shooters and fighters.  With that said, if you need an arcade stick for your ea sports games, it might make the most sense to gut a ps2 controller and buy some actual Happ Controls (http://www.happcontrols.com/) parts.  That way you don't ruin your $150 x-arcade stick.
