Title: Repleacement "SOC 1.5A" fuses for SNES
Post by: DaveJ-UK on December 31, 2003, 03:56:59 AM
I bought a SNES on eBay a few weeks back but when I tested it, it wouldn't turn on. I tried it with a different power supply with no luck. So I got a refund  :)

They didn't want me to return it, so I opened it up and bypassed the big surface mounted fuse marked "SOC 1.5A" which is located right beneath the voltage regulator at the back left (UK PAL SNES).

It works fine, but I think it would be a good idea to replace the fuse. Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk) don't stock surface mounted fuses and I can't find a suitable replacement at RS Components (http://www.rscomponents.com)

Can anyone tell me anywhere else I could try?

Thanks.

Try doing your search for a pica fuse, that's what we call those.  You could also rig a fuse holder or mount for any 1.5A fuse I imagine.
