Title: PSX Action replay PC connection
Post by: Guest who on March 09, 2006, 02:31:16 PM
I recently purchased this PSX Action replay/Import converter. I connects through the parallel on the back of the playstation. On the back of the Action replay, there is PC parallel port looking connector (see picture) What is this thing for? I'm guessing it's for uploading savegames since there is a memory card manager on it, but I don't know how I would connect it or what software to use anyway. So, can anyone tell me how to connect this to a PC and use it?

Originally there was a ISA card that this port connects to.  Later an adapter to connect it to a standard bidrectional parallel port was available.

From memory the software included some kind of debugger that allowed you read/write to the PSX memory, assemble/disassemble code, etc.

You may be able to find the software online somewhere, but you'll probably need to buy the adapter somewhere.  It may still be available at lik-sang or one of the other hong kong vendors.
