Title: Homemade ps2 vga cable..
Post by: VooD on July 29, 2005, 02:59:07 AM
HI, Ive been building RGB cable for every capable device I have for years. Some days ago I got a broken vga cable and started to think about building a ps2 vga cable in order to use it with some games that output progressive scan (God of War, Tekken 4 & 5, Jak 2 & 3, etc...), and I have some questions:

1.- Does Ps2 outputs in Ypbpr when progressive mode is on? (I dont think so)
2.- Will be enough by just wiring every color / ground to its corresponding pin in the vga connector using the standart scart capacitors between?
3.- Has the c-sync signal to be used? I think Ps2 in progressive mode uses sync on green, which my tft support

Right now my scheme is something like this

PS2__________________________    VGA
8 (Video Ground) --------------------> 6 (ground...I believe one ground is enough)
9 (Blue)-------------220uf.Cap-------> 3 (Blue)
11 (Red)------------220uf.Cap-------> 1 (Red)
12 (Green)----------220uf.Cap-------> 2 (Green)

Also, do I have to ground any other pin in the vga connector in order to wake up the monitor?

Thanks in advance and excuse my poor english.
Regards
