Title: playstation controller mod
Post by: watermelon on July 17, 2005, 06:34:37 PM
ive just done the controller mod from here:
http://www.rbmods.com/Guides/Psxmod/1.php (http://www.rbmods.com/Guides/Psxmod/1.php)

but for some reason it just doesnt work. ive wired it exactly as it said, but without force feedback.

the controllers power light has not lit up and its completely not recognised by the drivers.

im uing NTPAD under windos XP.

when i try to set up the driver properties and calibrate the contoller it doesnt recognise it at all, as if it isnt plugged in at all. the driver also crashes after a little while.

the only thing that i have done diffrently is i have wired it with a bit of an extension of around a foot and a half so that it reaches a bit further. but i dont think this is the reason for it not working.

has anyone else done this mod or have any experience modding playstation controllers?

i just dont get whats wrong with it.

i highly recommend this:

http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/dire...sxeng/index.htm (http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/directpad/psxeng/index.htm)

theres much easyer instructions there.. and they tell you a bunch of drivers too.. i recommend using psxpad

you shouldnt trust the colours or the wires.. do yur own measurements and work it out for yourself. or better still, use a port out of a multi tap like i did. (half a psx extension cable is also good, but still requires multimeter work)
