Title: SCART RGB to YUV adapter?
Post by: LucidDefender on May 07, 2005, 01:32:31 AM
I found this adapter here http://www.converters.tv/products/converte...roducts/46.html (http://www.converters.tv/products/converters/other_products/46.html) . Would this be the easiest way to get high quality RGB picture quality on my YUV HDTV?

You don't need to process the audio when doing a conversion. If you can pull the audio out seperately, then you're sorted.

Conversion between RGB and colour difference video is fairly straight forward and can be done with negligible picture degradation. See http://elm-chan.org/works/yuv2rgb/report.html (http://elm-chan.org/works/yuv2rgb/report.html) for info on how it's done (same idea in reverse)

I've not used the device mentioned previously but it looks up to the job (though the lack of any audio output is a bit worrying...but a little modification would soon fix that)
