Hello,
What with nintendo taking out the digital-AV out from the newer gamecubes, is there any way of getting at least RGB from the console instead of just the composite output? I am thinking if there is a mod (similar to what was done with the N64) that would get RGB direct from where it was needed and forward it to pins 1,2 and 3 of the snes style av port?
there is a chip that looks like it may be responsible (judging by the tracks leading from the flipper chip to this chip and its location to the av port)
AVE N -DOL A
RS5C582C
4JS 87P
and its a 32pin dil? (16 pins on either side) type.
Well I hope someone can come up with a RGB mod for this model of gamecube, I cant handle composite for much longer! especially as I know what it is really capable of!
Call Nintendo and arrange for it to be sent to them. They'll apparently replace the internals with a proper digital-ready motherboard.

Wheres the fun in that? :P
I have this problem because I live in the UK, would Nintendo of America still do the exchange?
If you have a PAL system it already outputs RGB. Personally I'd suggest getting a different 'cube rather than mucking about inside. That said, I don't have the info you want. =(

Its not a problem, I have an NTSC DOL-101 that I bought recently, its a NTSC console from the US. I usually use my panasonic Q, but I bought a second GC for mucking around/modding etc and it was the only model available brand new.
