Title: Panasonic Q Vs. Gc
Post by: Jopapa on March 20, 2005, 07:41:54 AM
So okay, after looking at both I have yet to find out if the Q supports progressive scan DVDs or even the progressive scan GC games that are out. Looks like it has the same digital A/V port that the GC USED to have. Is it identical (ie: will Nintendo's component cable work), or is that one proprietary to something Panasonic developed? I'm just wondering which of the two is the better buy (with the exception of the GC being much more affordable if I can find one with the digital A/V port). Thoughts?

im pretty sure the Q is identicle as far as the gamecube side of things go. i see no reason why it wouldnt support progressive scan games, i have heard nothing of the dvd side though so you might want to research that further

I can confirm the Panasonic Q does indeed support progressive scan Nintendo GameCube games but not DVD video. With DVD viewing and the Q you have a choice between composite or s-video but not component/d-terminal out.

I know, it stinks. I have a Panasonic Q FAQ over at GameFAQs.com if you're interested. It needs revised and my wife translated the entire instruction manual but I'm too lazy to update
