Post by: atom on January 17, 2005, 11:49:22 AM
What is an oscillator labeled with on a pcb?
I see a couple I might wanna rip out of a dead pcb, but I'm not sure. Are they labeled with an x?

X usually means x-tal, or crystal (just like xmas is christmas).

Yup, thank you Lawrence. I actually just got back from my hardware class at aschool and my teach confirmed this for me.

Although, I don't too many people have prejudicial feelings against crystals like they do the lord.

Are you kidding?  Damned hippies and their damned crystals!  "auras" my ass!  I hate them more than I hate xtians!

Well, that's a lie, but neither of them are invited to my party!
