Title: What is the pinout of an Amiga 1080 monitor?
Post by: PC Engine Fan X! on January 08, 2005, 06:09:37 AM
Hi there gamesx,

I just recently got a free Amiga A500 computer along with an Amiga 1080 RGB 13" monitor & a 23-pin to 9-pin Commodore RGB cable.

My questions are:

1.) What are the pinouts of an Amiga 1080 monitor?

I would have to modify the original Commodore 23-pin to 9-pin RGB cable to a 9-pin to a Neo-Geo 15-pin style joystick connection in order to use my Supergun with the Amiga 1080 monitor.

2.) Would I have add some capacitors & diodes to each incoming R/G/B line (in the 15-pin Neo-Geo joystick RGB output of my Supergun) to taper down the RGB signal as it comes in as too strong when viewed on the Amiga 1080 monitor?

thanks for your time...

1) No idea, but you could use the existing cable to figure out the pinouts, as the pinout of the 23pin D connector is well known (See here (http://www.l8r.net/technical/t-db23video.shtml)).

2) Only if the supergun outputs with a DC bias on the RGB output. AKA, I haven't got a clue, but if supergun SCART cables use them, then you will need to use them too.

It's identical to the 1084SD2(the 9-pin version of the 1084).
