Title: Where to get SCART parts/equipment?
Post by: Endymion on October 30, 2003, 12:15:34 AM
The title says it all, I've decided I'm tired of mangling the RGB cables I'm acquiring so I thought I would just make a simple SCART adapter for my monitor's pinout. It might also be prudent of me to start thinking about a switchbox of some kind and it occurred to me that would be a lot easier with a SCART starting point. But as anyone in the western hemisphere has learned it isn't so easy to acquire anything-SCART on this continent so... whassup?

Anybody have a good source?

You are guaranteed never to find any of that stuff in the US.

Try ebay.co.uk - there are usually a few cheap switchers and splitters up at any given time, and a lot of those guys will ship overseas.  Modding one of those for your monitor is a piece of cake.

Wow! Thanks for that suggestion! I've already found a 5-slot SCART box that is exactly what I need, now I can just use SCART for all my RGB and make one mod, the only thing I need mod from this point on is a pesky console. (If/when I get the gumption...)

These things are dirt cheap too! Everybody ought to think about going SCART from the looks of this.
