Title: Saturn in smoke
Post by: Vleonz on December 08, 2003, 03:19:11 PM
I bought another Saturn for like $20 recently, I plug it in and smoke came out.

(I bought my first one in 1996).

What type of fuse would I need for the psu?  Hopefully it didn't shock the pcb or anything else.

Fuses are a safety measure.  They blow when something is seriously wrong.  They also don't smoke, so chances are your cheap saturn's completely hooped, replacing a fuse won't fix anything.

Smoke came out.. Oops.

Sounds like 220volts went into 110v system to me.. sure you not dealing with an import console designed for another countries electrical currency.

Cool... I did that to a motherboard once, fused the damned CPU to the socket (Seriously overclocked, no cooling, was trying to do that anyway). Really wished I took pics of that...
