l_oliviera came up with a really nice idea regarding Dreamcast and the flash chip in it... the A17 is tied to VCC so half the chip is not used.... if you tie it to GND you can have another configuration.... only problem is that I have been unable to find a pinout for a 40pin TSOP flash chip used in my VA1 DCs...
The chip is 29LV002TC-90PTN
VA0 DC uses 5V chip.... VA1 and possibly VA2 seem to use 3.3V ones...

I did the mod, and its not complete success... namely, the software Russians made to change region etc. change only some parts of what's on the chip it seems... so if I flash the 2nd bank, some stuff will be missing and DC will assume all CDs inserted are audio CDs :/
Now if the flashing software would get tweaked a bit, things would be great :)
The Russian software only copies (backups) the portion of the flash related to region. It won't work for the purpose of duplicating the whole flash...
A new program that copies the whole flash is required...
hi! I have a problem with my dreamcast flash, using region changer, i have a corrupted flash, and always on the dreamcast with a black swirl and i cant play any game.
What can i do, to fix the problem.
