The Sega Genesis 3 is well known for the incompatibility with the Sega 32X system, the GameGenie, other games such as Virtua Racing and the Sega Master Converter.....I have found all the missing connections needed to give these features back to the Genesis 3.
It now plays great all Genesis games, Sega 32X games, other plug-in devices and 90% of the US Sega Master System collection using the converter...

Looks pretty good. Is this anything like the four-wire Nomad mod somebody posted over on Assembler? Hope you can post a more abstract wiring diagram that applies to multiple board revisionsl

(I was the one who posted the 3 wire mod (4th is for SMS mode) on Assembler, I've forgotten to post here...)

32X doesn't look good on the "hockey puck" :P
Nice job none the less :)

Nice work yourself, TmEE. From poking around in the Nomad, do you see any practical reason why those three connections were left out of the unit? It's not as if Sega saved money by omitting any components.

When you look at the PCB, you can see that there is not much room for more creativity to add the extra lines which are no importance for any other device than 32X, and you can't use 32X in normal conditions with Nomad anyway, even when the lines are connected, it covers AV out and DC IN, and also you would not see the 32X video on Nomad screen without some extra modding.
For SMS mode enable signal, this should have been connected, even if it would require a wire to do so.... Nomad is much better SMS than GG is.

Yes indeed, the 32X system is basically worthless for the Nomad....But TmEE's missing connections are great is you are trying to built your own portable....
The main reason I see of why Sega decided to entirely leave out the SMS mode connection is, because neither the official Sega Master converter 1 or the Sega Master converter II properly fit the Nomad shell without interfering with any of the ports..... And I guess they didn't wanted to spend more money either for an adaptor or another converter....Besides third-party unlicensed companies could have sold more unofficial cheaper SMS converters as well..
