Title: Digital VIDEO mod?
Post by: RSidell on October 10, 2008, 11:24:53 AM
Just curious with the advent of many digital video formats, will it ever be possible to mod old consoles such as the SNES & Genesis to get digital video?

I just read the specs on the HDMI standard and supposedly it can carry 480i This would be intersting as we can currently suck digital audio from many consoles, now let's just get the video. Boo Yeah!

Im pretty sure S-Vid and RGB is the best we can do for those older systems, but I am not certain. Anything is probably possible but is it cost feasible  with all the effort and materials. I just want a VGA jack on each of my systems

You can get digital video off MD1 VDP, but it has not been hacked enough.
