For some time I've had my Wii connected to an old Iiyama Vision Master Pro 410 CRT monitor via an XCM 1080p device (Component video goes into the XCM, 480p VGA video comes out). Picture quality is very good.

Just thought I'd try and connect the Wii to my PC's LCD monitor instead, a Samsung SyncMaster 2032BW - it works but the picture is a little 'soft' in comparison to those on my old Iiyama and colours aren't quite as bright.

I have a 220uf electrolytic cap on each of the Red, Green and Blue wires in the cable from the XCM  - without these caps the colours were very washed out on the old Iiyama.

It goes without saying that the colour and sharpness are perfect when displaying my PCs video output using the SyncMaster.

Any ideas as to the cause of the slightly 'soft' image please?

Thanks

Just tried removing the 220uf electrolytics from the Red, Green and Blue wires and the sharpness SEEMS a little better, but the image is then a bit more washed out.

Help?
