Well I did Snatcher on the PC-88 last year, so it was only logical that I also do Policenauts on the PC-9821. Finally got around to it. This was an especially difficult and time-consuming video for me to make, so please check it out if you have the time!

X68000 Software / Having trouble setting up my X...
Last post by mechattorney - Today at 06:22:33 AM
Hi there,
I am new here and I have no experience with the Sharp X68000. I'm trying to configure my Xbox One controller, but when I open Options..., then Joystick... and click on Setup, I get an error message ("A required resource was unavailable"). I tried the same method with my other controllers (a 6 button Mega Drive controller and a PS4 controller), nothing worked. Do I need to find some additional DLLs and paste them into the emulator folder? I was only able to remap my Xbox One controller to my keyboard and play a few games with JoyKey mode on. I would prefer not to have to rely on JoyKey mode, as switching it on and off just to use a keyboard gets tedious.
Also, is there a way to exit to the OS/file manager from the game or is it necessary to reset the emulator each time.
Thanks in advance,
Bartosz

Quote from: HIggy on May 05, 2024, 06:05:09 AMI've not had an issue (done it 3x now) powering from PicoPSU (remember there are copies out there!!).

I use a 24 to 20 pin ATX short cable and then cut off the plug and just wire the wires to the correct side on the X68000.

On my Expert 2 I did use the SATA connector with an adaptor to plug into my internally mounted BlueSCSI V1.

Not noticed any LED or other issues.

Pretty sure e.g. 5v rails are all connected together. So does not matter which you use.

Thanks, I'll confirm with a multimeter they're connected together, which I figure they would be.  Comments came from leonk in one of the original PicoPSU adapter threads: https://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=6510.msg45156#msg45156

As I thought, the problem arises from an incompatibility with the different Hitachi HD68HC000 10 MHz CPU for the first models, and the Motorola 68000 16 MHz CPU of the XVI and subsequent models.

I don't think the problem is due to the difference between the use of HENKAN BANCHO PRO or BlueSCSI V1, considering that on the Expert II system, you report correct operation.

I'm curious to know from those who have a Super type model, whether they have problems with Knight Arms or Super Hang-On, to understand whether the SCSI and SASI difference also matters, considering that they have a Hitachi HD68HC000 10 MHz CPU, but connected with SCSI .

Regarding the Aquales game, does anyone start the second level?

Last post by opooly - May 04, 2024, 03:24:12 PM
Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a cable for my coming Sharp monitor and I'm wondering if buying a simple db15 MM will work.
They are really cheap on Aliexpress: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005005615990407.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.5d2b378d4uQhW9&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra

Any feedback much appreciated

Thanks to all for reporting these issues, I will do the best I can to try and resolve these problems for a small update. Working on getting a SASI machine to do further testing on real hardware.

X68000 Software / Re: Looking for the Macintosh ...
Last post by letchuck - May 04, 2024, 07:50:00 AM
Hi, I'm trying to launch the Mac emulator on my X68000 XVI compact. I followed the instruction kindly given by Retrobits under his YouTube video:

- Extract the software: Iha x macos.Izh
- Put a blank 1.2MB floppy in the second drive and run the f512 command to format it. Hit 'y' to accept
- Write an 800k Mac image to the disk: conv finder.mac
- Add the ROM to the startup d file: db rom, 1e0000 < a
- Configure how much RAM you have, e.g. 8MB: cst 8m
- Run start2.bat to launch the emulator.

As I have a compact, I'm using a 3.25 floppy, but I think that I don't go so far that the emulator try to boot the disk. When I launch start2.bat, I have only a black screen.

Can you help me to make it run?
Thanks :-)
