A guy from a german Nintendo forum wrote, that the NTSC Wii Mote don`t work on a PAL-Wii and vice versa.
I still hope, he make someting wrong with setting and so on...

When the japanese Wii is release, somebody can check if the jp Wii mote compatible to the us wii ?

Maybe it is possible to add a US/JP switch like the Gamecube mod.

I'm getting a JP Wii, but I won't have it until the 8th.  I'll test it then, for sure.

It most certainly does work (other-region controllers). I see no reason why they would do this differently for Germany/Europe, unless they feel like making the controllers incompatible like they did with the PAL SNES vs. NTSC SFC/SNES. In the US, you can even buy Japanese controllers in the store (Fry's Electronics in particular did this).
