I have a Wells Gardner 4900 and want to hook up a Genesis , Master system to it .

The pin out here http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/genesisav.htm shows Sync , but what type of sync is this , which connection on the arcade monitor does it go to ?

The WG 4900 accepts , Neg H and V sync , Pos H and V sync .

It's negative composite sync. I think the LM1881 can split it into separate H/V.

As an aside, hooking a Megadrive to an RGB monitor is the very first thing I tried to do with RGB, and it was the reason for GameSX becoming a technical site instead of just a homepage for my game store.

So, carry on.  =D

Also, I've had success just connecting the C-sync to either H-sync, or both H and V on the monitor.  No extra parts required.

Yeah it looks like the easiest console to get RGB from , so I was gonna start with it and see if I can get it to work .

In case you finally get video and its washed out. Move the RGB wires to before (input side) the CXA1145M chip, and before the resistors too. The picture is no longer washed out and looks awesome.

Pics are of Gen 1, notice where I grab RGB, sync and Ground. Wires match the signal color.

My Genesis is connected via jamma to Neo 29 cabinet.
