Title: XRGB2 vs. ViewSonic Nextvision N6
Post by: jake on January 03, 2004, 12:59:22 PM
Hi.

I've been doing a fair amount of research in various places on the net. I've read many posts regarding both the XRGB2+ and the ViewSonic Next vision N6. Has anyone here used both devices and compared them side by side? I've never seen a direct comparison by anyone. It does appear that the N6 supports component input where the XRGB2+ does not.

I would like to know if there are major differences in the upscan quality.

The XRGB2+ does indeed support component input.  However, the N6 doesn't support RGB.

You shouldn't even have to think about this one.

Actually the XRGB-2+ only supports component video via an adapter, and image quality suffers as a result. The adapter isn't exactly top notch quality. I compared my XBox equipped with a Monster S-Video cable with the same console equipped with a Monster Component Video cable and the adapter, and there wasn't much difference in image quality. Maybe a tiny improvement.
