Anyone modded a MegaJet for 50/60Hz?
« on: October 18, 2003, 04:31:19 am »
EDIT: Title should read "stuck in 60Hz"

I've lifted pin 46 of the 315-xxxx chip and tried connecting it to either Ground or 5 Volts, but it still stays in US/60Hz mode.
Just wondered if anyone can confirm that they've done this mod successfully? I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious...  :P

I've done it on a nomad but not a megajet.  I'd be surprised if it was any trickier than simply messing with the jumpers shown on my site...  But since there's nothing PAL I want to play I've never actually done it.

Cheers, I've done it on a Nomad and a few MegaDrive 2's before without any problems - and I've done your mod to change the MegaJet to English from Japanese which works fine.

For the 50/60Hz mod I normally just lift the pin of the chip and switch it, so I'll have another look at the MegaJet and see if I can trace it to any jumpers instead.

Thanks. :)

And yes, I know I should just dump my one and only PAL game which refuses to run! (Castlevania)   <_<
