tate mode games
« on: October 03, 2017, 02:46:10 am »
All,
Is there any list out there of games that support tate mode (or at least an attempt to emulate it)? Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMJY6o69CIs&app=desktop

If there is none, maybe we should try to create one here?

There are only 3 games that support real tate afaik:
Dragon Spirit
Chorensha
And a doujin that I can't remember the name of right now lol.

Most games just stuck with the "letterboxed vertical" mode style.
Though some games oddly enough hide this feature, such as Gemini Wing
which requires you to hold F7 on boot to activate.

How can you get real tate mode out of ChoRenSha? When I put the horizontal screen from options, it's only letterbox horizontally without any benefits.

I said it had tate.  I didn't say it had arcade level tate.
Yes, its a bit disappointing, but you still get a bigger screen size
then when playing in letterboxed yoko mode.
