Personal hello okay?

I was reading this topic and decided to ask here.

I have a problem, one of my sega saturn controls original was not working, so I opened it and decided to make a cleanup and also weld the CI-315-5789A terminals, control returned to work, more presenting problems, did not work the L button and the diagonals also had problems, I checked the tracks and all were ok. Then suspected of logical IC and I removed the board, I was on the internet search to see if there CI-315-5789A separated, then I found in alibaba company selling the same IC with the same reference and decided to buy more than one.
So when I arrived just replace, but to my surprise the control or recognized.
So my question: Can someone tell me if these CI really are the same used in the control of Sega Saturn?
someone would have an answer for me to help because I invested in more than 1 CI because I thought as the friend there who opened this topic, just that I wanted to do the control ps1 for the Sega Saturn.

"Descupe my writing mistakes, I'm using google translator" :(.
My language is Portuguese Brazil.

Generally, problems with Saturn pads are a result of broken cables, and worn-out parts (like the rubber membranes under the buttons), not the chip, or the circuit board.

I've never seen a controller die for any other reason, though I'm sure it's possible.

If you have trouble with diagonals, it's definitely not the chip.  It's a problem with the membrane, it's either old, or oxidized.  You can try cleaning the rubber pads, and clean the PCB, but the chip is certainly fine (because if the chip does UP and LEFT, it will do UP-LEFT).

I don't know anything about the replacement chips.  If you really want to replace the chip, you can also use two 74153 chips (As shown here).

Very grateful for the response and great help Lawrence. :D
I did these tests also checked in the conductivity of the joystick cable wires and all were ok, just left me to doubt the CI.
But unfortunately I neglected me and I damaged a terminal of the original IC. :o
For this reason I bought these CI to try to replace more without success, then this method of using two CI 74153 I had ever seen, anyway thank you friend! ;)

and my congratulations on the forum is great! 8)

Hello budy Lawrence, how are you?
Well, after more than a week without being able to access this forum, I do not know if he was going through updates or anything, I was trying to give a report on this CI 315-5789A I bought to replace the original control.
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AlMPXOde5es8lDsODGsDh3YfkpLO :D
"These days I just confirm that this Ci is actually the same original SEGA, I made a control wire connection review I have replaced this IC and I found a small error of the interchanged wires, was I just fix this error and control worked perfectly!

So this helps! for those who want to build a joystick for sega saturn without having to buy 2 CI 74153. 8)

I thank you for your attention! ;)

 :D personal hello okay?
Long time do not go here in the forum, I was and still am busy these days.
Friends and micro Lawrence, come here post what made these days with this idea that I had to buy the CI logic original Sega Saturn. As only understand very little English, images and videos are universal and better understanding.  :D.

This first video is what is ready and is working very well.

Below his image inside:

It was a little messy, but it works ;D.

Now I would like someone's help forum here, hopefully with the video that is on the link below you can understand what I want to do.

It seems simple, most to me is complicated. My project would you like to transform an analog into a mini lever arcade type, is to transform the analog to simple digital buttons, I these days I've been studying the way as analog functions and then tried about 3 different ways and no results close, so these days I decided to open the potenciomentros of analog and gives a nice look inside, that's when I found out that shaving a piece of track as shown in the image:
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AlMPXOde5es8lgnlgY4fsRtNifQ-
I would break the resistance and thus function as an arcade, I auditioned in a ps2 control board working and just soldered the analog and worked perfectly.
UP, Down, Left, Right. more in this case there had this problem showing the video.
So in short, I wonder if there is another way more correct to make this change.

Below some more pictures for a better understanding of what I did.

:)
I hope you understand ???

staff, I thank you, but I solved the problem presented in the video.
soon after I posted, I made a change to one of potĂȘnciomentros and now everything is fine.
I will close the control and soon post pictures of it in operation. ;)

But still the question of analog still stands, this way I found it worked now, I wonder if there is another way. :D
