You've already got it on your list, but I find the soundtrack from the X68000 version of Star Cruiser to be one of the most impressive soundtracks ever written for the YM2151. There's just a tremendous amount of variety in the patches, articulation, and compositions - not to mention it's a pretty lengthy soundtrack with nearly an hour of music:

Also, there's some awesome tracks in the folder MXDRV_Neko68k\MXDRV\Game\_Etcetra\CONTINUE

I found them after watching this video: https://youtu.be/gkx43Fqb5XA

Will definitely be following your progress. Thanks!

Nice, obscure stuff like that is just what I'm looking for. :) I'll definitely go through Star Cruiser thoroughly when I get to it, been a fan of the MD version for a while now.

Would you happen to know where to find Dragon Knight 4 or Cross Fire EX as .mdx or .vgm? They don't seem to be in any pack I've found.

Illumination Laser has fantastic music. The whole OST isn't on YouTube, but you can get the MDX files from the composer's site:

Here's stage 1's theme:

You should take the time to go through \Original\KamisimoRecords and \Original\KamisimoRecords\utabi68 Some of utabi's stuff is just amazing.

Wow, I've never heard FM sounds quite like that. Thanks for the recommendation!
