Hi all,

Has anyone tried to load Bomber Man from a hard drive installation? I've tried it by using 2hdboot and also copying the files from the floppy (as explained in the following link http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=x68000:installing_games_to_hard_drive), but any seems to work for me; after the SystemSoft logo that is shown with a short piece of background music, the game turns into a black screen and the main menu never loads.

Could somebody please give it a try? If so, it would be really appreciated :)

Thank you!

Edit.

I've seen there is a hdd image shared here in the forums (MiniV2) that has this game installed and it's working fine. I've compared the files from this copy with the files from my version and the sizes match, even the content from the file !Start.bat is EXACTLY the same...  Honestly, I don't get why is this copy working and mine not.

The one in the MiniV2 HDD image was patched by Eidis in order to bypass the need of the disk (or disk image) in the floppy. If you compare the CRC32 of the 'BM.X' executable you will find that it's different from original one.

You're right, I've just found the thread where Eidis posted the patched file (http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=5418.msg36809#msg36809). I had no idea about this kind of protection... it seems that I chose a wrong game for my first attempt at installing a game :P

Thank you very much Caius, and Eidis of course.
