Apologies if this has been asked before, but is there anyone that makes MD to X68k joypad adapters for sale? I've been trying to get one of the Capcom adapters that came with SF2 but keep getting outbid on them. I know there are some schematics on the site but the skills required are beyond me.

This one only works as a two button controller, not looked into them to see what is involved for more funtionality.

Maybe someone on here may be able make one for you otherwise.

Thanks, will take a look. Would ideally like to get one that could support 6 button games as well if possible.

Genuine capcom, bit expensive though

No idea what the going rate is for them, but seems expensive to me given how few games support six buttons

Ohhhh i love the CAPCOM POWER STICK,pity the adapter is expensive...,more than Stick...,
i think in this Forum remains info about how MOD the 6 Button MD pad for play in the X68000 with more than 2 Buttons...,
and is not an hard MOD.

Managed to snag this off Yahoo Japan for about £40. Will be more after fees and shipping but i'm quite happy with it.

6 button support works by a software driver, which games that use 6 buttons all have.  The hardware adapter is a very simple device.  The adapter that comes with Chelnov works just fine with a 6 button MD pad in SF2.

I made a small adaptor for mine. Really easy to do - I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Here are a couple of pictures.

The wiring is:

nice - that's cake to do, too (no tools). You use the DIY adaptor with a mega drive controller and all 6 buttons work?

Dal

Yes - all 6 buttons work with this adaptor.

It means you don't have to butcher a controller or make it incompatible with the megadrive.
