PIO-6BE and XVI Compact
« on: April 29, 2012, 09:24:44 am »
Hi
I got a PIO-6BE memory board (says 4MB) and I am trying to get it to work without much success. The board came with a manual and I changed the dip switches according to what I could understand (pin 1 on, 2,3 and 4 off). I booted into my hard disk image, ran switch.x and changed the memory to 6Mb (XVI had 2MB originally). On the file browser utility though I still see 1.5MB free and when I try to run the games that require 4 MB it doesn't work.

Any tips on what I could do here?

Thanks

Turn all dips off.  The dips tell the card when to turn on so to speak, as RAM is assigned like one continous block.  Since you have 2mbs internally you want all dips off.

Yes! That worked. Now I am able to run all games on the HD image... but one! Daimakaimura still doesn't work. I call !start, I see the Capcom message and it starts loading. However, the screen goes black and nothing happens. I tried clicking keys, joystick buttons but nothing.

Does that game requires more than 6MB? If not, what could be wrong here?

Thanks
