Anyone know if there is an RGB mod for a Famicom AV system (the newer sytle Famicom that looks like a toploading NES)? I did a google search and haven't found anything.

A tutorial or step-by-step would be great!

All NES/Famicom mods require a new video chip, as the standard one doesn't output RGB at all.

New chips are rare, and not 100% compatible with all games.  Colours are wrong on some and other video glitches can occur.

S-Video would requiere to do the RGB mod first and then convert RGB to S-video, so you get the same incompatibility/color problem of a standart RGB mod + the lower video quality of S-Video.

Since the Composite Video quality of AV Famicom is great (if not the best) vs the other NES/Famicom system I would didn't waste my time on the topic of RGB.

I did it and since I'm back on composite video ;)
