Hey yo

Do you remember those plugs that went in the original playstations parallel port? there was bout a squillion on the market.

I remeber there were obvious ones like action replay and game shark, then there were weird hong kong style ones like game dragon and password wizard.
Anyways, my question is, do they all pretty much do the same thing, play imports (and sometimes backups) your console?

Im only asking cos ive been offered the old equalizer cart for like, 3 quid, no spring, but I can make one or use blu-tak or something.

And yes, i am too much of a tightwad to take the risk.
cheers in advance

If it looks like one of the dodgy Hong Kong ones it will probably allow you to do the swap trick to boot imports/etc.  I've never heard of the "equalizer", but the dodgy ones were sold under more names than I can remember.  I saw a lot of them back when they were everywhere and I can't rember any that didn't allow you to boot imports/etc (usually this was all they were being used for).

I do know that the "PSX explorer" carts don't have this feature.
